Daraja Academy
Daraja Academy is a boarding secondary school for Kenyan girls with top academic scores and exceptional leadership skills but no means to continue their education. The academy provides shelter, food, healthcare and counseling services which allows students to focus on their academic and personal potential, without being hindered by the everyday barriers of poverty. Our groundbreaking educational model has generated a community of students filled with intellectual curiosity and a hunger to learn.
The campus is located 4 hours north of Nairobi, and 25 kilometers outside of Nanyuki. The facilities were originally built by the Laikipia Baraka School. Its history is documented in the award winning film Boys of Baraka. The Baraka School was dedicated to education and serving those in need. Daraja Academy will build on this legacy.
