Overview of the School

Daraja Academy is located 4 hours north of Nairobi, and 25 kilometers outside of Nanyuki.  The facilities were originally built by the Laikipia Baraka School.

Its history is documented in the award winning film Boys of Baraka. The Baraka School was dedicated to education and serving those in need.  Daraja Academy will build on this legacy.

Built on 60 acres, the school is a fully functioning boarding school with classrooms, dormitories for students, housing for administrators, teachers, and support staff, and a dining hall.  It even has a basketball court and a soccer field.

The buildings are designed to blend into the local landscape and are a spin-off of a Masai Hut.  Its water is supplied from a nearby river, and all the boarding facilities have hot water courtesy of solar panels at each tank.
